ueMakerLab Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 25.05.2025

Welcome to ueMakerLab! This is the website where Umut Erhan (that’s me!) shares tools and projects, like UpWiz (our Chrome/Edge browser extension). We care about your privacy and want to be clear about how we handle your information when you visit this website (https://uemakerlab.com) and interact with its general features.

This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights regarding your data, especially if you’re in the European Economic Area (EEA) and protected by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Please Note: Specific tools offered on ueMakerLab (like UpWiz) may have their own, more detailed privacy notices or terms that you’ll see when you use them. This policy covers the general ueMakerLab website.

1. Who We Are (Data Controller) The data controller for your personal data collected through this website is: ueMakerLab Türkiye Email: uemakerlab@gmail.com

2. What Information We Collect and Why

We try to collect as little personal data as possible. Here’s what we might collect:

  • When you browse our website:
    • Log Data & Device Information: Like many websites, our servers may automatically log standard data provided by your web browser. This may include your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, the pages you visit on our site, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, and other technical details.
      • Why & Legal Basis: We use this for website security, to understand how people use our site so we can improve it, and to diagnose technical problems. Our legal basis for this is our legitimate interest in maintaining a functional and secure website.
    • Cookies: We may use cookies to help the website function, remember your preferences, or gather anonymous analytics. See our “Cookies” section below for more.
      • Why & Legal Basis: For essential cookies, our legal basis is legitimate interest. For non-essential cookies (like analytics), our legal basis is your consent, which you can manage.
  • When you contact us (e.g., via a contact form or email):
    • Your Name, Email Address, and Message: Whatever information you choose to provide us.
      • Why & Legal Basis: To respond to your inquiries and provide support. Our legal basis is your consent (by contacting us) or our legitimate interest in providing good customer service.
  • When you sign up for a newsletter (if offered):
    • Your Email Address:
      • Why & Legal Basis: To send you news, updates, and information you’ve requested. Our legal basis is your consent. You can always unsubscribe.
  • When you use tools hosted on ueMakerLab (e.g., UpWiz):
    • Specific tools will collect data necessary for them to function (e.g., for UpWiz, this could be your email for account creation, your professional bio, and job ratings for its AI features).
      • Why & Legal Basis: This data is processed to provide the service of that specific tool. The legal basis is typically performance of a contract (the terms you agree to when using the tool) or consent for specific features. Please refer to the individual privacy notice/terms of each tool for details.

3. How We Use Your Information We use your information to:

  • Operate and maintain our website.
  • Provide and improve the tools and services offered on ueMakerLab.

  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with our website.
  • Protect against illegal or prohibited activities.

4. Sharing Your Information (Who sees it?) We don’t sell your personal data. We might share it with:

  • Service Providers: We may use third-party companies to help us operate (e.g., website hosting, email delivery, analytics providers, payment processors for any paid tools). They only process your data on our instructions and must protect it.
  • Legal Requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
  • Business Transfers: If ueMakerLab is involved in a merger or sale, your data might be transferred as part of that (we’d let you know).

5. International Data Transfers Your information might be processed in countries outside of the EEA, where data protection laws may differ. If we transfer data outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or by using providers that adhere to recognized data protection frameworks.

6. Data Security We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access or disclosure. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure.

7. How Long We Keep Your Data We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes we collected it for, or as required by law. For example:

  • Website log data is typically kept for a short period for security and analysis.
  • Information related to your use of a specific tool is kept as long as your account for that tool is active or as described in that tool’s specific policy.

8. Your GDPR Rights (Your Control!) If you are in the EEA, you have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: You can ask for a copy of your personal data.
  • Right to Rectification: You can ask us to correct inaccurate data or complete incomplete data.
  • Right to Erasure (“Right to be forgotten”): You can ask us to delete your personal data in certain situations.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You can ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Data Portability: You can ask for your data in a structured, machine-readable format to move it elsewhere.

  • Right to Withdraw Consent: If we process your data based on your consent (like for newsletters), you can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint: You can complain to your local data protection authority if you’re unhappy with how we handle your data.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at uemakerlab@gmail.com. We’ll respond to your request within one month, as required by GDPR.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We may use them for:

  • Essential Website Functionality: Some cookies are necessary for the site to work.
  • Preferences: To remember your settings.
  • Analytics: To understand how visitors use our site (e.g., Google Analytics). We typically anonymize IP addresses for this.

You can usually control cookies through your browser settings. For non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent (e.g., through a cookie banner).

10. Children’s Privacy Our website and tools are not intended for children under 16 years of age (or the relevant age of consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Links to Other Websites Our website may contain links to other websites not operated by us. If you click a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content or practices of any third-party sites.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post any changes on this page and update the “Last Updated” date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
